Tabiatha Ann sat with us at Hart's Firehouse in Lampassas, TX talking about her background as a model and her time with Heels for Combat Boots. She's one awesome lady that goes from model to mechanic in the blink of an eye, not afraid to get dirty while turning wrenches on her own 52 Plymouth. Supported heavily by her husband Scott and her family and friends, Tabiatha has been involved with HFCB since '14 and will go to the ends of the earth to help our vets.

Sitting with an awesome car club, the Hooligans of Central Texas, we had a meal at Hart's Firehouse in Lampassas TX and chatted about where they got their start. 11 years in and they have 10 chapters and still growing strong. Family being the main focus, the socialization between members is key. They talk about how membership isn't guaranteed because of a cool car. There's more to this club than that. Give em a listen as they tell their story.

A Revival of classic metal is in the works, especially with this band. The Night, a San Antonio local band, sat with us on the podcast and talked about how this project came to be. With influences like Judas Priest and Iron Maiden, these guys definitely have some talent in their recordings. With plans of theatrical shows and elaborate costumes, you won't want to miss their next set. Here's the Night!

In a very rad shop, we sat with Brant Martin and started from the beginning of how he got started. From an early age, he was taught about cars as well as finances as he was given a loan to buy an old car at age 11 (co-signed by dad of course). He fixed up that car and paid back the loan in order to get his license by 16. An absolute awesome story about starting his shop, struggling with a failed economy and continuing to strive, check out Martin's Rods and Customs in Lampassas, TX.

The 2nd edition of the Soundtrack featured San Antonio local ska/punk band, the Skams. From talks of influences and questions about the future, we chatted about anything and everything… except the band!!!! The feel of just a chatty conversation probably had more insight to this band than any question/answer session could have. Even when we got down to the part about who they were NOT influenced by. The conversation talks of music, movies and much more… pick it up… cause here's the Skams!

Empire Garage is the epitome of what we look for in the custom culture of our car world. From the rad rides they were building to the Decor on the walls and the projects up in the rafters, this shop had it all. Kris Bluntzer and his amazing crew sat with us after we took a rad tour around the shop. Kris gives his wife and the crew all of the credit for how far the shop has come. He even gave Buzzard a ride in his 49 Shoebox Ford on the way to a meeting with an old friend, Rattle Snake Joel Gammage!

An absolute pleasure of ours is to be able to sit down in a garage and talk cars. We met Bill after several messages went back and forth through social media. We were determined to get him on the show. He was the epitome of what our project looks to spotlight. A down to earth car guy that wanted nothing more than to swap stories of how it all began for him. This is one of our longer podcasts but the stories is what we wanted captured. It was a blast getting to chat with Bill and hope yall dig it!!!

Our first stop on the Awesome Austin trip was to a well known little corner where some of the coolest parties have been known to happen. We met with Murpho, a California kat makin’ his name known nation and world wide, pumping out some of the baddest hot rods and chopped tops we’ve seen. We talked about some of his favorite builds and where it all began for him and his wife and how they came to Texas. Murpho’s and the Boneyard Boutique is gonna be one of our stops during the weekend of Lone Star Round Up. Check out this sweet interview with a bad ass innovator in our car community.

Joel Gammage met us at Texas Hatters in Lockhart, TX and gave us an amazing tour filled with incredible stories. If we had recorded them all, there would have been enough for 6 podcasts! But after our tour with him, we sat down for a cup of coffee and turned on the mic. He is a 4th Generation hatter and is absolutely passionate about what he does. In today’s interview, he tells us about the start of Texas Hatters and how it has grown to be an incredible business, 96 years and running. This year will be the 6th Annual Hot Rods and Hatters car show in the town square (plus 30 city blocks) of Lockhart, TX. Feb 3rd and 4th, you’ll wanna be there! A huge car show in the BBQ Capital! You know we’ll be there! The Rust Culture Project is now being filmed as a documentary series for the Custom Culture Channel. We'll keep you posted when the new channel rolls out and provide you with the links.

Rooster Sample is no cookie-cutter artist and he's definitely not pigeon-holed into one type of Art. His skill level is a product of years of putting in time and effort. He can do lettering, paint/draw all of our favorite monsters, and even pinstripes...on EVERYTHING. He's painted on about every type of canvas there is. When we met with him, he had just finished up some lettering and stripes on some windows at Lone Star Barbershop. We talked about his starts, the moves he's made over the years and the people he's been involved with such as local car folks and his own car club, the Rumble Cats.

The team made it out to Denton, TX for the 2016 Pistons N Paint car show at the North Texas Fairgrounds. After getting some pics and some video footage with our drone, we started the hunt to find some interviews. When the Hellkats Car Club showed up, we definitely wanted to get them on the mic. Buzzard had been following Johnny Plummer's chopped 54 project for a while now and wanted to meet the craftsman. Johnny did a quick spot with us talking about the show, his build and their club. We look forward to the future seeing them out at more shows. Next on the mic was Mark Salinas, owner of the Lowlife Clothing Co. We've know Mark for several years now and wanted to get his take on how the culture is growing and changing and what it means for his business. Said that there's definitely things changing and 2016 was going to be the make or break year for their brand. Last but not least, we got to have a longer interview with Jenna and Sean of Double K Originals. These are the folks that make some of the raddest glitter vinyl bags, purses, wallets, key chains, etc. Got to hear how they changed their lives to follow a passion. ..to the point of making themselves completely mobile and operating out of their RV. Overall, the show was completely rad and we look forward to getting more film footage next year.

Buzzard and Luis couldn't find a quiet place in the barrage of blues guitar coming out of the speakers, but were able to take Doug down the street to a local burger joint that was quiet enough to ask a few questions. Dealing with some minor street noise and a few sirens, Doug was able to give us the details of his beginnings, and how his band has kept up in the past 2 years.  His tour will be wrapping up in Nov and he'll be back to writing more songs,  but not before  he plays a free show in Santa Barbara November 12th for the Vets!

Buzzard Lane and Rebel Rae interview a panel of members from the Barons Motor Club about the formation of their organization. Chris Niederkrom (also heard in our first podcast with his son Dean) gathered up 2 of his buddies, Willie Salas and Damon Laduke to make for a lively discussion about how they came to be. We also discussed what sets them aside from other clubs and how they've continued to remain for 22 years. The difference between a car club, motor club, social club and jacket club was brought up and the general consensus is there isn't a problem with any of these groups as long as you call it what it is and don't claim what it isn't.

We learned about his roots in the racing culture and where he got his start in building high end race car parts. Listen in as we had a blast learning about No Corners Cut Fabrication.

We meet Buzzard Lane, host of the Rust Culture Project Podcast. He talks about being in the music scene in San Antonio and seeing all the rad cars that would come out to the shows. Him and his buddies buy their first cars and did head first into the culture. They started wrenching on their rides, forming car clubs, and eventually Buzzard went on to create Whistlin Wolf, starting off as a non profit and turning it into the media company it is today. Buzzard Lane has gone through so many cars and trucks that it's obvious the love is much bigger than just the vehicles; it's a love for the culture.

We dive behind the scenes of the Rust Culture Project Podcast with an informative monologue by host Rebel Rae. She talks about her life in cars, growing up with her brothers, learning how to be a mechanic, being a girl in a predominately male automotive world and her current contributions to the South Texas car scene. Mixed in the rawness and realness, amongst all the F bombs, are truly rad messages and insights that explain why Rebel Rae is a great co-host along with Buzzard Lane.
